How do I see my character in my item menu?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 3:30 am

I'd like to see myself trying on clothing and armor while in my items menu, but can't figure it out.

You can't. Silly design choice.

You cannot.
Don't ask me why, ask the developers.

You have to leave the menu and move the 3rd person camera around.

you cant in the menu itself you can however go into third person mode if you put your weapons away and move them camera into a position that will allow you to see your character as you try armor/weapons

It's not the best solution but it works. Go into third person and zoom out so that your character is on the right hand side of your screen and go into the menu, you can get a vague image of what it looks like on you from there.

All you have to do is zoom out to 3rd person view (F key on PC, right control stick on console) and then open the menu.

Love the game, but just mind boggling that they would remove such a neccesary feature that was in previous games. I cant believe they thought this was a good idea, just baffles me.

I've used third person mode with turned around camera. It's still awkward.

Hopefully this gets modded in. I wonder if TFC (Toggle Free Camera) works from console on PC? I haven't tried yet.

@ GraniteDevil: more necessary than your post anyway.

I'm quite surprised at this decision. I reckon it'd be hard to mod that in.

Ok, its clearly not game breaking, but it is annoying.

Idiotic design choice considering how much space there is to work with.

Developers and their epic failures in logic. What goos is an inventory menu when you can't see your character?

It seems that the focus is much less on "costumes" and more on the stats.

At least, I haven't found a lot of inventory yet that I care about just for the aesthetics as compared to the stats.
