How to know which NPC's are friends and which are foes

I am currently playing a sneaking archer character and I sometimes find it difficult to know if NPC's in the distance are friends or foe! Sometimes I think they are regular evil bandits so I start shooting to find out later that some of them have names which mostly means they have some sort of quest value.
I think your clothing could be a valueable asset in this. Are you dressed as an Imperial or whealthy dude, you're getting in trouble with bandits. Are you dressed all raggedy and dark, maybe bandits could be more open to conversation. You know what I mean.

Opinions anyone?

Walk up to them, stab them in the back, if you suddenly get a bounty on your head, too bad. Otherwise, YAY! :celebration:

Naww, I'm just trolling.. No idea, really. Sorry.
