I've been chopping wood in Riverwood to save up for a house in Whiterun.

Looting dungeons is more fun way to make money though.

Quests, loot, alchemy, enchanting, work, smithing, theft... There are loads of things you can do for money.

Wood cutting. It's boring and time consuming but it does equate to endless money... I'm always low on money as well. Spell tomes, ridiculously overpriced robes and items for enchanting result in one poor Altmer :(

Just go explore and clear dungeons. Sell the loot. It will add up fast.

Craft leather armor. It's easy, and you can make a lot of it and sell it. Or join a guild, higher up quest probably pay good.

Its really easy to make money, but it also goes fast. I spent quite a bit to craft some Dwarven armor, and then upgrade it.
Just take your time and look for coin purses and gems in dungeons. I already bought a house, maxed it out and bought enoug ore to make a full suit of armor, a 2hander and a shield and axe.
I sell extra potions and such.

By the way, book shelf's in your player home are awesome, just wait till you find it out.

Woodcutting takes too long in my opinion. Smithing the Leather Armor is a good way to make money and real easy, the only thing is you'll be leveling up if you do it alot. I find making the jewelry from smithing is a good way to make alot of money too.

I just found a spell that transform Iron Ore into Silver Ore, and Silver Ore into Gold Ore.
After that, you can smelther the gold into gold ingots, and then make some jewelry with it after.
Also while mining for the Iron Ore, you often find some precious stons that you can put on the jewelry as well, making them more valuable.

It's a fun way to make decents amounts of money.

Smith up some Iron Daggers, upgrade them, and enchant them with Damage Stamina at highest setting (any soul can be used, but petty is best for money). Best way to both upgrade both skills and make tons of money that I have found.
