I think you're due, then, to go to the Skyrim forums and complain about no mounted combat!

As Third eye has clearly stated, it is about time that I come here and complain about mounted combat, now, I have been playing Skyrim recently so I believe that my input might be of some value in regards to the lack of mounted combat. My fellows Elder Scrolls fans... it is my personal belief that Bethesda not adding in mounted combat is an affront, not only to their company, not only to god, but too us, the fans! The ones who purchase their games!
Sure, we can take into account the fact that in the real world, mounted combat was less and less effective the further north you got, the Norse and Scotts not exactly being the best horseman.... hills, mountains, snow and large rocks combined not making the ideal environment for someone to charge around on a horse effectively.....but for now I'm going to push these facts aside and not compare them to Skyrim.... because in online discussions, logic comes after a rant, never before. I think what really grinds my gears is the fact that most combat in Skyrim is done outdoors, I mean, really, do any of us go into those dungeons? I mean 'really' who wants to go into a dark hole in the ground filled with things that want to kill you? Most sane people don't. Thus, mounted combat should of been given priority, we weren't meant to go into dungeons, we where suppose to ride around on the back of horses shooting arrows like the Mongols of old.
Now, I've heard people say "Oh, if mounted combat is in the game, you would spend all you're time charging into tree's and off the side of mountains" well to these nay-sayers, I tell you all to sit down and stay silent, because I'm going to set you all straight. Yes, it might be true that we might charge into tree's, realistically killing or crippling our horses in the process, but that's not important, what's important is that we are given the freedom to kill ourselves or our animal companions in the way of our choosing, in the spirit of a true Elder Scrolls game. Many of you others would ask "If you can't charge around effectively on the horse, then why even fight on the top of it?" well to them I say this.... sure, you wouldn't be able to charge effectively... but you could stand on the top of you're horse like a turd seated upon the top of a rock trying to hit things as people come charging at you, ironically giving you even less mobility then you would have off of the horse.
Who here agrees with me?
