Well Ive started the game of as a mage who occasionally uses a bow but i need need some money for new equipment....... i have tried doing some blacksmith in river wood but I'm not sure if its a job. can someone help me out.

Oh and i want my gold to be earned properly I don't mind if its a lot of effort.

do some companions guild quests as they offer a nice place to sleep and money for quests

Second, if you're low on cash, you can chop wood in Riverwood that you can then sell to the foreman for 5 gold apiece, and you can do this as long as you like.
