If you sided with either the imperials or storm cloaks then i think the towns under control by the opposite faction will attack you. (can't confirm this as i haven't chosen a side yet, im playing a "good" guy but such a pain trying to figure out which of the 2 is actually good lol)

That would do it. The knockback (im pretty sure thats the one ur talking about) shout does dmg as well.
