Archer questions

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 9:34 am

my first question is.. ARMOR. As an archer, you should always use light armor correct? I always assume, but i just want to be certain, by using light armor you have more stamina and move quicker?

my second question, so far I have been dumping all points in the archer perks, where else do people put there points as an archer? So far I have been sneaking a lot picking off people so I'm guessing archer and sneak...
along with that, I was looking in the sneak tree and branched off of one handed weapons is bows, are you able to skip past abilities and put points in other areas or do you have to follow the lines in order (if that makes sense)

And finally. Do you all dump your points in mostly health, stamina, or magic... so far all of my points have been put in health due too wearing light armor

I've been dumping my points into archery and two handed weapons. It's good to have a middle ground to be able to stand back and fight or move in and destroy if necessary. My two handed is by far the best but i use light armor which is somewhat contradictory. I've been keeping my magic, stamina, and health pretty even. Maybe the health is up one or two more

I put point in stamina mostly actually. Stamina drains when zooming in your bow, so extra stamina will let me take a little longer to line up a shot if needed.

I'm now using a bow, 2hander and heavy armour. The idea is that I just shoot with arrows until they reach me, then I pull out my sword. Because I can fight from every range, I don't need too much manouverability, so that's why I chose heavy armour.

my only thing with stamina is, I am only usually zooming in when i am in sneak, picking them off, when they are up-close once they have found me, so far no need too zoom, that is until i get points in slow mode zoom..... but soon i will prob put points in stamina, and I feel the only reason why i would ever put points in magic is if i was going to want to summon things and snipe, but I want to be a powerhouse bowman... and putting points in archery and sword, i kind of want to stay away from... want to be a straight on full archer, only use melee when I have zero options left... so far only had too do that once. Other than that, I can pick them off pretty quick... bigger guys I would prob bring a partner to fight with me

sneak makes bow ridiculous. Once you get the 3x dmg while sneaking the only thing you won't 1-shot-kill will be bosses/dragons. And yeah use light armor (if you sneak). FYI you can join the thieves guild and get an awesome set of enchanted light armor

my question is, right before that theres a perk that increases one handed weapons thats linked to that... can i skip that one... or do i have to put a point in it to get to the bow upgrade (if that makes sense)

also im guessing there are 50 levels according to the achivment... but do you get 50 upgrade points... or does it slow down and only give you like one every other level later on?

unfortunately no you can't skip the melee perk so you have to waste one. You never use melee for sneak attacks? You get a perk every level, it doesn't slow down

If someone could provide me a detailed description on how to make the bow work, I would appreciate it.

Once arrows and bow are equipped and I hit R, the bow goes in the left hand. Then when I push the left mouse button for a full bowstring draw, nothing happens.

Thanks in advance.

no, I try to avoid it, not because I dont like it... only because i want to be purely archer

I love the melee, but i want to be a archer powerhouse.

Archers can wear heavy armor. Actually, my archer bounces between heavy and light, and just wears what is best for the situation/the highest tier.
