I am having a bug which prevents me from advancing in the game. There are some corpse I cannot loot. I stand over the corpse there are no words like the one you usually see with the name and indication if a corpse is empty or not.
It does not happen very often, but now it happened on a corpse I have to loot to continue with the main quest. I tried restarting the game, exit and re-entering the tomb, no avail.

Anyone has any idea?

You can just activate it anyways even if the name etc. doesn't show up. It happens occasionally.

Have you tried loading an earlier save and replaying that section?

I don;t know if it's the same thing, but I have seen this once.

Instead of 'looting' I was 'lifting', because I held down the 'E' button (PC).

I wonder if your issue is becuase 'lift' and 'loot' are the same button

Nope I can't. I tried killing it with different methods and spam "E" over and around the corpse with no avail.


I load an earlier save which was still in that section but very much near the starting. I do not have an earlier save that doesn't require me to replay like mad.


Nope I cannot lift it either. Basically I cannot interact with the corpse at all. Its just lying there. Certain reloads allow me to pick up the weapon it dropped but never the corpse itself.

Are you on PC?

'Resurrect' the corpse through the Console and then kill the thing again, see if the problem is persistent

I could not select the corpse to target it on console. I went to the extent of reinstalling everything.

Anyway I am lucky enough to find an autosave at the start of that particular level. I tried replaying it, so far no problems. I hope it will not happen when I reach the boss again.

I hope this can help remind you guys to save often and systematically.

For the record, despite this bug I am very impressed with this game so far. All Bethesda games I played had WAY worse bugs. Before Skyrim was released, I told my friends "Its a Bethesda game. You ought to wait a year for all patches and DLCs to be released before buying it." Glad I did not wait.
