I'm investing in the sneaking skill, and i see one where it says 'backstab' basically adding more damage to the sneak attack. I've however no idea how to do a sneak attack on someone. I was standing behind a bandit but i didn't see any way to sneak attack him. Remember the screenshot where the player stabs someone in his back? How do i do that attack? Also the throat slitting..how?

Not played Skyrim yet, so, no sure, but I suppose you need to attack while sneaking, like in previous games.

ok... let's clear something right away, when you mean standing behind the bandit you mean crouching ... right?

Yep, i probably also worded it wrong, but i mean how do i do the sneak-executions? The backstab and throat slitting?

For me a simple slash while crouching and undetected will deal the x15 damage for dagger and x3 for bow. Pretty straightforward.

I read there is an assassination move, not sure how true it is but I have yet to execute it so far.

IMO, stealth attack is very powerful in the game. Even in Master difficulty, most basic enemies dies before they can discover you.

throat slitting is a finishing move, so automatically and randomly triggered. Backstab is the bonus you get from attacking while remaining undetected, I take. I don't have the game yet but I guess you'll have to improve your sneaking skills to get a chance for a successfull backstab more often (not sure about it though)

just sneak up behind them and press attack, if they'll die from one-hit you probably will see the cool execution-animation but if they survive it's just a normal hit I believe.

You need to be crouching with the sneak eye shut or at least only part way open.Hit your target with a one handed weapon or bow and arrow and you will do a sneal attack.The perks you mentioned increase the damage done with your sneak attack.
And lastely that throat slitting you saw won't happen all the time.I have no idea how to make that happen as I use bows most of the time.

Ooooh so it's not like you can just crouch behind a guy and slit his throat? I was kinda hoping for that.

I get those finishing moves a lot. It happens when your sneak attack one shots the enemy: instead of the sneak attack you get that cutscene. If you can't oneshot the enemy, then you just make a sneak attack.

Try Sneaking up on them and Hold attack to do a Sneak Power Attack on your Target. Cutscreens trigger 100% of the time of a Power attack killing blow.

Power Attack helps as it increases your damage, same goes for Crits.

Any one know if the 1 handed blade crit perk works with daggers or not?

So basically my dagger (cause i want to slit throats or backstab) needs to be powerful enough? One of the shots also show a execution from the front, i wonder how that one was done. And a charged attack could mean i get the backstab animation, but at the same time i could be the throat slit animation?
