So I pre-ordered Skyrim months ago in anticipation of getting the amazing textured map and I was also going to order the guide with it but in the end didn't bother.
I pre-ordered at a specific game shop, so that I would definitely get the map, and then the day finally came when I got it and here is where my problem is.
Now my friend didn't pre-order, he wasn't really bothered about the map and just went in on the day and bought it from a department store, but he got the textured map with his and he also paid less than me, around ￡6.50 less than me to be precise.
Now I wouldn't have bothered paying the extra for the map, but I haven't. I've paid extra for nothing and I'm really quite annoyed about it. Now am I being really whiny or would anyone else be annoyed, and has anyone else noticed this?

Anyways I'm enjoying the game quite a lot, and it's so much more of an improvement compared to Oblivion. (:

How did you pay for nothing? You did get the map, right? Your friend just also got the map with his not pre-ordered copy.Guess you paid for the main pre-order reason: you were sure to have your copy on release day.

I pre-ordered the game and got the map with it. Must say I haven't looked at it once. I want to explore everything myself. Maybe when I've finished the game and I'm going to hunt for the achievements I'll use it, but the way it looks now (the grand scale of Skyrim), that's not going to be for a while

I just feel cheated, as that's the only reason I really pre-ordered. It's just slightly annoying is all.

i didn't preorder but I still got the map =D

They must have just sent a few with the maps to all stores then. I'm not raging about it... ;D

The principal is that your local game store screwed you over.

All the games have a "premium physical map inside" on the back of the box.

I didnt pre-order, instead i went the shop the day after release for my copy, the map i got is textured paper, is that the one you mean?

How did he pay less than you? The pre-order shouldn't have cost more than a regular copy.

The "premiums" these days seem to be packed in the box, so you have that chance to get them regardless of pre-order status.


(I didn't bother pre-ordering Fallout:NV, for example, but the copy I picked up off the shelf at my local Best Buy had the pre-order items code in it.)

Thats true, i got pre-order bonuses for F:NV, Halo Reach and Halo Wars without pre-ordering said games.

What's the point saying 'If you pre-order this you'll get something special' and then just giving it away to everyone...
