Carrying too much......again!

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 4:45 pm

I'm upto level 9 know and its a real grind trying to keep my weight down. I haven't got the 5k to buy a house so I'm using a companion to share the load but seems there is a weight limit there. I've been selling stuff off in Riverwood but seems when i go on a long trek i fill up real quick. Doesnt help because the UI is annoying and seems I'm spending more time managing my weight than i am playing the game.

Had the same problem, caused by 10 dragon bones that weighted 150 weight units total :lmao: Finally could afford the house so now i'm traveling lighter.

Easy solution, pick and choose what you loot.

You can't just grab an enemies entire inventory. You'll be over-encumbered very quickly. Establish what you do and don't loot, and what the weight:value ratio is on the items you pick up.

The weight limit is ridiculously small (again). Seems to be a reoccurring theme in Bethesda games. I'm coming off of Two Worlds II and it rather spoiled me with its high character inventory weight limit. You could carry an extra set of gear for different scenarios and still have plenty of capacity for loot.

I have not found a feather spell or potion yet. Do they exist? Or is Lydia the replacement for these spells?

It's the game's way of teaching you not to be a kleptomaniac.

Thats exactly what im doing. Thing is the weight doesn't add up. At my lightest with the bare minimum of weapons, apparel, potions etc I'm about 240. Once i'm out and about i quickly fill up even when i'm being incredibly choosey about what i loot.

This really hasn't been a problem for me as I wear all light armor and pretty much only use bow.

BUT ... there was this one time I decided to put some of my stolen loot (to sell later) in a barrel near the farm by Windhelm. I checked up on it like a day later and it was still there.

BUT ... it was gone when I was ready to sell it several days later. Currently selling stolen goods from the world of Skyrim. PM for prices! lol

Also saving for house at 2k now.

Well do you expect to carry more than 300 pounds and fight dragons, giants, mammoths. etc. Be glad that you have the ability to carry even more than 300. But yes it is hard to manage weight.

...until you have a house. :D

And it's kind of a shame... there IS a "carry more" perk. And it's buried in the perk tree for Pickpocketing, a skill I've almost never used in Morrowind, Obivion, or either Fallout. :sadvaultboy:

Sir UnderTow, that loot's probably gone now. For some reason even loot in inaccessible dungeons disappears after a few days.

I don't think the carrying limit is that low, especially compared to the starting one in Oblivion. I just sell any stuff that's particularly heavy.

You'll be amazed by how heavy the ingredients and potions part of your inventory can be. I think that's more than half my weight. And I don't even use the ingredients and very little potions.

If you join the College of Winterhold, you get a room there for free where you can store items.
