So, how many people have ran happily up to a Giant camp thinking they can talk to them, walk along with them because of the demo... only to be hurled 200ft in the air by it's huge club you didn't suspect.

Yeah... i did :(

They're territorial over their camps, if you see one walking round outside a camp they won't attack, I did make the mistake of wandering into one of their camps though.

Yep!

But, I saved just before. I took out a giant and a mammoth one after the other. Admittedly, this involved MUCH running, shooting a LOT of arrows and climbing a lot of hills to avoid them. Took about 20 minutes lol.

Not so much, actually. Just a dwarven bow, some steel arrows and lots of stamina potions!

I saw it swing it's club as I got closer, took it as I sign that maybe.. just maybe.. he wants to hit me with it.

Misleading title is misleading...

Anyway one of the new things about Skyrim is that many creatures are PROTECTIVE of themselves and their camps, so be cautious if you decide to get closer.

Perhaps they are sick of people asking for piggy back rides?

So they don't attack you, if you are near one walking and not attacking?

I once fought a dragon with a giant. It ran out of its camp and started battering away with its club. That was pretty awesome. Also being launched into space when you're killed by a giant.

Yeah. The one thing I've learned is that if you run into sentient beings in the wilderness, don't assume that they are friendly. I've been unpleasantly surprised too many times. Of course, the flame atronach should have been a no brainer.
