Stamina - Finaly it has a purpose.

Looking back at Oblivion, fatiuge was just pointless. Not ever did it have an effect on how your character peformed. But now they good it back to being important again. For combat-focused characters, it sometimes makes you consider increasing stamina instead of health when leveling! And it drains very much when doing power attacks or shield attacks.

Good job Bethesda :goodjob:

I believe it affected your damage in battle.

Fatigue mattered, just so little that it was pointless and minimal.

Now, Stamina is crucial. Well done.

Yeah... Only it drains super fast.

This is how dumb people can get...

If it did NOT drain fast at all from the beginning stages of the game you would have no need to increase stamina and combat would be far too easy.

Yes and no. It forces warriors to think about what they're going to do (can't spam power attacks or shield bashes), but the problem with it is that it forces you to rely pretty heavily on alcohol and potions early on. One is almost constantly opening one's inventory to drink potions or alcohol just to keep up.

However, I do hear that it evens out at higher levels, I'm just not sure if I like that lower level folks have to rely so heavily on consumables.

Though I understand you point about lower levels relying on potions, but isn't that kind of the point with being low level? I mean, you're kind of weak at this point so you should have to rely some on potions and or tactics. And it should get easier, stamina-wise, as your character becomes more powerful (not that the challenge overall should get too easy).

I haven't looked at the perks all that closely, but are there any that reduce stamina drain?

I'm just not sure that I like that a warrior has to rely on an inherently magical skill just to get by at earlier levels. At least they can be a drunken barbarian and chug alcohol (Although I think the after effects of the reduced stamina regen are pretty crippling).

Not that I know of, but the higher your skill in weapons and block, the less stamina you use when you do a power attack/bash.

I don't see how constantly relying on alcohol isn't any different from how I am in real life.

It's annoying how one power attack drains ALL of your stamina though

Very funny how fast your stamina drains away when you use the zoom on the bow. I agree ... they've taken a stat that was virtually of no interest and turned it into a stat that's really important. Already I've been running for my life on more than one occasion and seen my stamina flatline shortly before my character did!
