Where to find general info on classesskillsarmoretc? : V

I just started playing this game and would like to plan out my character a little bit before I plunge in. I have't found desciptions of how the different items affect play style (for instance, is heave armor prohibited for a stealth based character, are the magic restrictions for different armor types, etc.) Can someone point me to a sight where I can learn about this--dying to keep playing, but I'd like to know what I doing first.

I bought the strategy guide and it has everything in it.
