Dark Brotherhood, Pro's and Con's?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 12:40 am

So what are the pros and cons with the dark brotherhood? I am thinking of joining them but i need to know if it's worth it first..
And also, where is the best place to buy bows(short or long), arrows aswell as train your archery? I really need to level my skills up!
Thanks!

You get tons of gold (The reward for finishing the main quest chain alone gets you 20,000 + tons of gems), a few sets of armor, a unique enchanted dagger, another house, a demon horse that has [censored]tons of health and can hold it's own in a battle (Me and the horse took out five town guards and two named guard NPCs at the same time), 3-4 stat raising books, 1-2 companions depending on a choice you make during the quest line, and some other things.

No but it takes some time to do it the quest way and if you do it the other way you have to kill an innocent... wich i wouldn't do if there wasn't any reward!

Oh. You also get a unique summon that can regenerate health. But!

Forgot to mention, the quest chain is pretty time consuming. On my second playthrough that was the very first quest I did and I started at level 1 and ended up at level 13 or something.

I dealt with this dilemma in regards to killing the innocent lol, then I went and saw her and she aint no innocent.

Still, seeing as I'm playing as a Witcher, I figure when nobody around will pay to have monsters killed, the next best uses of their talents are assassination and theivery: Jobs sorted!

Well, if killing an innocent isn't your thing or doesn't fit your character, this is not the questline for you.

Spoiler
Some targets deserve to die, but even the introduction to Astrid gets pretty brutal depending on how you go about it.

Spoiler
To be fair, the Merchant is a scumbag and probably deserved to die. Even if you don't think he deserves death, he's definitely not innocent. The other two...not so much. Although the housewife is annoying. I ended up killing all three and Astrid said I was an overachiever. GO DAEDRIC SOUL STEALING POWERS!

May I ask how to get accepted into the Dark brotherhood? Is it like Oblivion?
