Creation Engine impressions

Well last night i finally played Skyrim on the XBox 360, I never played Oblivion. My first Bethesda game was Fallout 3 on the PS3. Every one who has played F3 on PS3 know how buggy and ugly it was compared to the XBox vernon (I'm not even comparing it to the PC version which is superior on all fronts because of modding and graphics). The next game I played was New Vegas, different developers but same engine. This time it was on the XBox. It was buggy as hell (mostly fixed now) but the graphics where better.

So far I'm really liking the Creation Engine. I don't have the same fear of auto-save that I had for F3 and FNV. Also when it loads (off Disc until the patch for the HDD) I don't sit there crossing my fingers hoping it will load and not corrupt. Don't get me wrong I still save often but it's more when I get to a load area (which is now nicely indicated with the arrow+door icon). I really haven't noticed any of the texture issues but that might be for the fact that I haven't' played games like Uncharted 2 or BF3 or Batman AA in a very long time.

After playing for hours and getting a couple quests under my belt and figuring out the skill perk tree and enchanting weapons/armour and just plain walking around, I can't wait to see what Bethesda comes up with for Fallout 4 (or whatever it will be called), I fear that it will not drop for consoles until the next generation but I'm sure it will look and play great.

All in all this seems to have been the smoothest launch of a Bethesda game in a long time. Yes the texture thing is a pain in the ass (also my arrows stuck in my character disappear so I'm not getting that bug), but I would take that over corrupted saves or general freezing and crashing of the whole system (looking at your Fallout 3 for PS3 with DLC).

What do you guys think?

Oh and I chose Nord and Stormcloaks, it just made most sense for the setting
