Don't rush this game!

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 9:57 pm

I have read a lot of post saying they have already beaten the main story line, bored, etc, and I haven no idea how. I have logged over 28hrs in so far, only level 17, and have barely even scratched the surface of quest. And with the main story line I am on the part where I have to go and talk to the old peeps in the mountain, so only like a few quest in. The story line and even reading the books is amazing (size quest wise) and I can't even imagine the main story line as of yet. People need to slow down and just enjoy the game Bethesda made for us.

20 hours in and level 21. Done hardly any of the MQ, just enough to get a few random dragon encounters. (In fact, 1 step ahead of where you are).

I am still level 1... lol. I've put 20-some hours into the game, and I haven't even left Riverwood. What have I been doing? Chopping wood, playing with Stump (the dog), cooking, playing in the river, climbing in the hills...

I don't know how I'm going to experience everything before TES:VI.

I have almost 20 hours on my first character and she's only level 9. I've only been to Riften, Windhelm and Winterhold. I haven't begun the main quest yet. I think I'm taking it pretty slow. ;)

I'm 12 hours in and only level 11. I think one thing to take note is if people are using fast travel or not. I myself find it to ruin the immersion of the game. I dont know how you could be bored with the game; go explore and you will find a ton of side quests !

I couldn't believe when i came on here Friday night and people were saying they already beat the game.

I spent about 8 hours just tooling around Riverwood and doing a couple things around Whiterun and even then i felt like i was rushing myself at certain points.

To each their own though.

I'm newer to TES series. Played oblivion a bit but didn't appriciate it like I should have. I am loving skyrim and doing the opposite of rushing through the game, I'm a little overwelmed and don't know where to take my lvl 6 Khajiit assassii/theif next. I have about 6 hours in with this character and have done none of the MQ and just made my way into Riften to join the thieves guild and cleared out one bandit hideout on the way.....

I am about at the same point as everyone hear as well. There is so much to do in my logs, I just do not know what to do first. I found myself killing a few hours just hunting game and catching butterflies (I had no idea I had been doing so for about 2 hours). This game is the best if you just sit back and live your life in the vast land. If you need a little pick me up, go find a cave, dungeon, or dragon, there are plenty.

Honestly, I think it should be impossible to beat the game in less than 10 hours. In that, it would take at least 10 hours to level high enough to defeat the end boss.

Obviously that's not the case, but a level 10 character beating the game just seems redic to me. In Oblivion it could be even lower.

Spent about 30 hours, and I'm only level 23(I believe it's 23...) because my Smithing skill is in the 80's (that's basically all I've been doing :D ). Everything else is in the 30s or less. I've only gotten to where the Greybeards call out to me in the MQ, and the only faction I've joined is the thieves guild, just so I can use a fence to clear all the stolen loot that accumulates. About 60% of my time has been spent exclusively in Whiterun.

I've gotten to the
Spoiler
meeting with Paarthurnax
and am now taking it much slower. I'm going to be leaving the Main Quest alone for a while.

I am level 13 or so... I've been playing about... 15 hours I think. It is so easy to get lost. My frustration is that I find something that I can't fight (giants) and then I want to level up to beat them.

One thing I haven't done enough of is focusing on leveling up my skills. I love that practice makes perfect... it's a really neat game playing idea that you can work at doing things and improve your skills. Feels pretty unlimited and awesome.

I am avoiding reading to much about other people's game play so I can just do this my own way. It's not a competition... it's just fun.

I am sad that I lost my companion, Lydia. I blame myself for rushing through dungeons without being powerful enough. Oh well. My goal now is to save up enough money for a house.

My only complaint is that I keep getting encumbered... if I could carry more crap, I'd be able to make more money... the game would go better. I guess it might be my own fault for not building up my stamina?

I couldn't believe when i came on here Friday night and people were saying they already beat the game.

I'm too lazy to check, but I always suspect those are the same people who last week were shouting about not being able to wait until it was released.

I have no idea how to check how long I've played, but I'm level 3.5 and just did the first dragon killing thing and have cleaned one dungeon. Second character, this one with some slower skill gaining mod, which may or may not be actually working.
