Lydia Should Do Stuff

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 1:56 am

I honestly don't like Lydia being in my house. I mean, you become thane and all and it's really cool that the jarl gives you a person to watch over your stuff, but I don't bring her into combat. As a result, all she ever does is sit in my house at my little table and think about nothing. At first I must admit to being intrigued by the idea of an attractive woman in my house, but she doesn't do anything. It's kind of jarring to see.

Could you add some stuff for her to do? At least let her give you a haircut or try on different outfits, I don't know. She literally has nothing to say or do and it really bothers me. And I come back to my home every few hours to put my many dragon bones and scales away and before I leave I try to see if maybe she has some new dialog....but there's never anything.

You're right...why isn't she in the kitchen?

I dumped Lydia...rolling with Faendal now, and better off for it.

Eh, I gave Lydia to Delphine and Esbern. Having her sit in Dragonsreach staring at nothing was a bit unnerving.

Yeah, should be some new dialogue from time to time atleast. Besides that, I can't seem to get her to stick to an action (like sleeping) after pressing tab to return to my actions. She just stands up.

(ok that sounded half way wrong )

Edit: I want to add. I gave her a big huge sword, and in addition to her bow I find her pretty useful in combat now. Like taking out annoyances like wolfs and bandits, and she distracted a giant long enough for me to kite him to death =)

He's in Riverwood, do a quest for him and he'll follow you. He's a pretty good companion if you give him some armour and a better bow.

He won't follow me, I screwed him over something fierce. I'm pretty sure he sent the DB assassin after me that attacked me shortly after I left Rivenwood :D

Ask her to follow you. Ask her to interact with an object. Point to the bed.

Yes, but then when you want to exit the interactions (tab on the PC) she gets up. Is there no way to get her to sleep while you go about your business?
