Come with me, I need your help

Sorry, can't follow you, seem you already have a follower!

Ok?

Here is my problem, I thought someone might have a idea on how to fix it.

I have a quest that requires someone to follow me to a location, but he won't. In fact I can not hire anyone because they all say I have a follower already. I don't have a follower though, I have tried waiting 3 days, then 4 days.
The last person I had to follow me was my (in game) wife, and I dismissed her shortly after. She tagged along fine and dismissed fine, however I can no longer hire anyone to follow me.

Any ideas?

Anyone?

I have tired waiting, disabling people and enabling them and so on.
Is there a console command to maybe help me out?

Does anyone that knows how to find the ID of anyone who is supposed to be your follower?

Using the console commands I found out that my folloer count = 1. But I have no idea who my follower is (according to the game) and where they are.
If I knew how to find them, (the id) using the console commands I could disable them and see of that solved the issue.

I have no quests that require a follower or give me one, and anytime I take a quest that does require a follower I fail it because I they won't follow me.

I am not able to hire anyone, or have anyone follow me.

So, if anyone knows how to navigate the console well enough to give me the commands to find my supposed followers id that would be great. Surely there is a way to figure this out.

Thanks.
