Absolutly love lock picking!

Don't know what it is but lock picking is my thing. Actually it's probably the hundred maybe even thousands of locks I picked in fallout 3. I'm so happy it's not like oblivion, I always had such a hard time, forget it if I came across a harder lock, I don't think I ever picked one with success. This new system is perfect for me. It takes one try everytime no matter how hard the lock is to pick. Now that I'm thinking about it annoy me further in the game, I guess I wish it was a little of a challenge but that's alright I'm fine with not waisting dozens of picks to find I don't need anything in a chest.

How do you feel about lockpicking? Too easy too hard? Better Oblivion style?

I find it difficult. :( It was easier in Morrowind. I dont remember how it was in Oblivion tho. I still break my pick locks often. :'(

Oof yea, I came across a master door and chest in the Olaf's Last Verse quest. I think I went through like 12-15 lockpicks.

(Not that I'm complaining! Good loot should be difficult to obtain!)

I like it a lot too... Definitely one of the better lockpicking/hacking (including sci fi games here too) minigames I've seen in a game. I actually look forward to it

After playing over 1000 hours of New Vegas the lock picking method comes as second nature to me now, whereas I never did get used to the Oblivion method.

It's one of the few things it does better than its predecessors.

Morrowind's was pure RPG %success spam, Oblivion's allowed you to pick absolutely any lock in one try if you knew how to. Skyrim makes a better compromise in balancing player skill/patience and character skill.

Still far from perfect, since you still CAN pick absolutely any lock without investing points in the relevant skill - sure will take you a dozen picks but they aren't rare (and shouldn't be).

I love Skyrim's system, though I do agree you should make master locks incredibly hard without associated perks.

FNV, 2W2, other games....I'm used to this type of lockpicking system, so I like it. Never did like Oblivion's system. Not saying Oblivion's system was all that hard, I just found it a lot slower and more importantly, boring to do.

for PC why can't you turn a lock slowly like on the console...there's just one speed and if you aren't paying attention to the shimmy buh bye lockpick :*(

Best such minigame I've seen was in Deus Ex human revolution. The hacking there is so much fun I actually maxed out that skill tree ;)

It's great like fallout but is it me or is the interface kind of smaller?
