"Giants won't attack unless you do"

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 9:36 pm

There may be factional/racial issues here: I heard somewhere that Giants hate Orcs. Not sure if that's true?

But anyone saying aggressive Giant behaviour is a bug: no. They are simply big and territorial: stay away from their camps. High speechcraft might help you get close without being attacked... haven't tested it though

Also: my level 2 thief got wounded in a bandit fight and chased across the tundra by a wolf. A passing mammoth broke away and gored the wolf to death for me while I cowered on a high rock... I still hid until the mammoth left.

Skyrim is awesome, Giants and Mammoths add some great dynamics. And they are way more dangerous than Dragons! My level 5 Mage can kill a Dragon without too much trouble but Giants are pretty tough.

I don't see how you could possibly interpret the threatening waving with the club and stamping on the ground as a friendly 'come over here' wave. :P

Nothing is worse than having two giants coming after you and then a Dragon on top of it! It hurts to be level VII!

What I really hate, aside from giants playing with you, is when an enemy capitulates and then when you decide to sheath, he jumps right back at you! I'm no longer falling for any of these shenanigans again. No more Mister Nice Guy.

Yeah, totally annoying. I mean, they're down to 1 healthpoint or something anyways, do they really believe they will get out alive if they attack me again?

As for the giants, they always attack me when they see me. Must keep a long distance from them and I wouldn't even touch their precious mammoths.

That's been my experience. I walked up to one at camp, he turned me into paste.

I walked up to one wandering around the wilds alone, he completely ignored me.

The only Argo when you trespass in their camps.

No, sometimes they just walk around and don't pay attention to you, even if you go to them. If they are in their camps then they will probably attack.

There are giants that will attack you. But the giants that are herding the mammoths wont.

Giants are non-hostile. Just don't go near their mammoths. I went up to a giant and he was fine, but his mammoth got funny and so did he too. They are killable though, just a little bit of a challenge. I killed one and a mammoth at level five at the cost of ...LYDIA!!!! WHY!!!!???

In my experience, wandering mammoths and giants won't hurt you as long as you don't hurt them.

If they're at their camp, you stay away.

<--- Had actually taken a stroll with a giant and his mammoth across the tundra.

Saw a burning pyre outside in the plains...looked like Giants having a bbq! Went to have a nosy and then 4 Mammoths and 2 Giants absolutely dominated me.

Lesson learned - I don't like the Giants...
