ahhhhh!, Don't know if anyone else has come across this yet but I've just stumbled upon a gold mine!
Was on my way to do a quest just outside Markarth, and I came across a few men that wanted to kill me, oh and a dragon xD

Just finished the gold rush! got 51 gold ores out of it and 2 gold ingots!

Just mine any ore, then use transmute spell to get gold ore, easy.
