If wearing rings could boost my skill, I'd wear them on each finger and each toe.

Considering the possible bonuses you can get for only 1 ring, it makes sense. I can see where you're coming from if you want to have different boosts for different things.

It'll be modded.

I would be a bit surprised if that were modded in. In the entire lifetime of Oblivion, the mod community never got it right as far as I know. They made [infinite rings] and they made all races use the tail slot. But as far as I know, nobody ever added a limited number of slots.

I was a little puzzled at this design choice at first... but lets look at this...

A) It reduces the amount of items you need to favorite or worry about carrying

Which is admittedly a pretty weak reason until we take into account...

B) These rings are a lot more potent than they were in Oblivion. They give you 20-30 magicka/health... 15% better lockpicking/pickpocketing/etc...

So my guess is that they wanted to reduce the clutter in your inventory so they upped the power of individual rings.

Just a thought.

My Dad allways used to say "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

I thought I'd run into a bug (I'm pretty sure that was everyones first thought). In all the previous games we could wear two rings, why change that?
Because two rings would be too powerful? Heck, then make the individual rings less powerful and besides the balance issue usually flies right
out of the window when one considers Daedric Artifacts, so why change this?!

Sometimes I just feel Bethesda wants to kill off TES with little bites and nibbles... :(

Honestly, I can see why there's only one ring slot, because I have a simple little gold ring that cost me like 60 septims, that decreases the magicka cost of destruction spells by 15%, add that to the 15% by my robes and the large percent cut down by the Destruction tree perks, and i'm (at the bare minimum) mitigating 30% of the spell cost. If something as crucial as that can be stacked so high, think of all the other things you could make stack that high. (Free Fast-Heals anyone?)

Doesn't help us 360's.

Seriously, nothing overpowered about a 2 ring maximum.

I think you guys are overreacting to the max. Just make reasonable posts abou tthe issue in a large megathread and eventually a mod will take notice and inform Gstaff to take a look then maybe change can come. Nothing is ever solved by shouting a lot unless if it is against your mortal enemies. Just not.... this... or politics. shouting never solves anything in politics.

Honestly, I didn't understand why we were limited to two rings in the previous games. Obviously it would be for balance reasons, so I suppose Bethesda felt that the Skyrim rings were even better than before (and they are) so they reduced it to one at a time. Mods will fix it.

It'll be modded.

I hope not.
Unlimited Rings and Amulets was made possible in Oblivion and IMO the "expolit" killed game play.
Something to avoid if you want to keep a balanced game.
