How good of a PC do I need..

.. For Skyrim to run better on my PC than my PS3, graphics and performance wise? Thinking of returning it to the store, selling all my games and investing it into a PC.

I'm currently running an Intel Pentium Dual Core E5800 3.2 GHz, 4GB 1337MHz DDR3 RAM, and something like a 1.6 TB hard drive. Worth mentioning that my video card is terrible so I won't even specify. How much am I looking at spending?

Also wondering, are PC users suffering any of the crap that the console versions have?

Cheers.

Ive got an E7200 (overclocked to 3.8), 4GB or RAM, and 2x 6870 but I am only using one for this game. Ultra maxed out settings, it runs perfectly smooth. When they do put crossfire support for it I probably still wont bother. The game is not very demanding. Pressing CRTL ALT DEL while playing, the game is usually only using about 900mb of memory. Ive heard it only uses two processor cores? not sure though.

Your base system is probably enough, from there your video card will decide the graphics settings. Considering I am running max AA and max AF still with no lag, I'm sure a much lesser card could run it at max settings with no AA and 8x AF.

You need a FULL POWER processor, not a Celeron, Pentium P4, Pentium Dual, or Sempron.

There already has been a Master thread for your question, here:

Do yourself a favor and invest in a high-end PC. That way you're guaranteed to be able to play Skyrim on max settings, and will have a PC capable of handling high-end games on high-end settings for years to come.
