My views on Skyrim

So far I am loving this game, the environment is so cool(looks like my home country of Canada). I like the new graphics and animations. It looks a lot better than Oblivion. I like how the magic is like a (flame, ice, thunder, etc)thrower coming out of my hands. I like the how the made books 3d and have turnable pages. I like Dragons. I however do not like the UI. I don't mind the simplified UI, but I much rather the Oblivion one. I personally hate the favorites and hotkey system. Its cool how I can favorite more stuff than I could in Oblivion, but I do not like how I have to pause the game to select what weapon or spell I want in each hand. It really slows down the gameplay. I don't like how theres only like 2 hotkeys this time. I much prefer oblivion's press a number key or a dpad button and auto equip a magic/spell/item. Also I extremely hate how Magic is a weapon in this game and takes up a full hand. I much rather the Oblivion way where I can cast magic while holding a two hander, bow, or a sword/shield. I don't like that I can't create potions on the go(at least I can't so far). I think I pretty much expressed what I like and don't like so far, oh and I am not a fan of the super easy Fallout lockpicking. Fallout and Oblivion both had easy lockpicking, Fallout being slightly more annoying due to skill requirements, but this is ridiculous. You'd think they changed it this time to make it more difficult for us "Veterans". So far I haven't seen any game breaking bugs, I've only seen some funny bugs. Overall I can't say if its better than Oblivion or not yet because I haven't seen enough. I can safely assume it is indeed better than both the next gen Fallout games.

I like paragraphs and whitespace to break up big blocks of text.

LOL, I'm not taking the time to do that on a tiny iPhone screen. It was hard enough just to write it on that thing.

I play on PS3, my PC does not have a good enough video card to run it the way I want it to.

Also do all of you guys hate how your Argonians have the human voice for sprinting and shouts. Also do you think it is stupid when your argonian gasps for air in a human voice after emerging from the water?
Please Bethesda fix this. I hope they at least remove the gasping for air thing since argonians breath under water.

Favorites on xbox360 svck 455.

I'd much rather have 8 d-pad selections which give me the selection instantly than
d-pad up
TS navigation
A to select
B to get back to the action

so we went from 1 press of the d-pad to (for example) drink a health potion instantly in the middle of a battle, to minimum 4 command events to drink a potion in freeze mode? LAME!

/trolls please spare me your 'play it on PC then' BS. I should go out and spend $600+ on a gaming rig when I have 2 perfectly capable xbox's in my house? F that.

Argonians sounds differently, I havent played as one, but those I've run into (at a bar in Riften) sounded more human than the argonians in Oblivion. It still fits IMO.

My only real gripes are

1.The UI is not very good and clunky especially for PC

2.The rain and snow still fall straight though covered areas(inexcusable and a pet peeve of mine)

3.A few of the textures are a little grainy and some occasional glitches.

Now if took that and it was in a smaller linear game that was otherwise without flaws it would still score high, at least an 8.

Take that and add it to a world 15 times as large for that much more to do and have it be with out much other flaws or complaints and you have one of the greatest games ever. Some want to act like everything is a game breaker, but for them I doubt any amount of perfection would do. Some games that are very linear need to be almost flawless to be ranked high like gears of war. However Skyrim is SO MUCH bigger a few flaws are to be expected and this overall game experience so far has eclipsed any game I have played ever including Morrowind (the best TES until Skyrim) and of course Oblivion.

A few problems aside this game is the best gaming experience I have ever had and that counts more than a technically more perfect but much smaller game like MGS or Gears.

Thats not what I ment. I said MY argonian. He sounds just like my cousin's nord warrior. You know the breathing sounds when you run, the shouts, when you come up for air after being underwater, and when you attack or get hit. I don't mean NPCs I mean my player character. No matter what race you play, your character sounds the same. Its a minor problem yes, but it breaks immersion.
