Does armor matter :)

So I was doing a bit of an armor experiment today. Heavy vs Light sort of at first. Lvl 9 sword&shield warrior vs sabercat at master difficulty. With light armor&shield, 108 armor rating, the fight was hard. The cat could basically 3 shot me through shield and I couldn't kill it in 10 attemps. With heavy armor, 156 armor rating I could kill the cat every other attemp.

tl;dr Do spec the plus perks for armor. It's worth it :)

Now after that I went to do a troll. Lvl 10 heavy shield war 180 armor +10 fire enchant weapon (sadly without it my dps couldn't beat troll regen) and with that armor troll does not hit too hard and did fall.

So ok I went for the frost troll, same stats as in case of normal troll ... and the bloody mutant 2 shot me. Does any1 have any tips how to 1v1 him from melee range ? I know I can kill him with my companion, but without it seems unlikely.

Just use fire attacks combined with melee attacks on frost troll. Only thing i needed to kill one was my fire breath shout+melee. If you don't have fire attacks and you're low level then i suggest you to not attack them yet.

You are not prepared. /Illidan

I had to use a scroll paralysis, so he was knocked down for like 10 seconds. During said time, I unloaded with Flame in my R hand and Sparks in my L, completely draining my magicka. Then proceeded to dual wield melee until he got up. Then used my shout (unrelenting force) and shield bash to stagger when he got close.
