Weapon Damage Question : V

Under the weapons description it says "Target takes 20 points of Shock damage and half as much Magicka damage." Although, The weapons damage rating is 28. I was interested about this to see if the damage stacks on top of it, as in the damage rating + the special damage(I doubt it), or if the description is not exact. Also I was interested in what types of monsters were weak to Shock and Magicka because My current bow is an Elven Bow with no special damage and damage rating of 31. I was wondering if it was worth switching out or not selling in case there was an appropriate time to use it. This is only a concern because I found this bow in a Master Chest on top of a very large mountaoin inside a Cave that was extremely hard to get to during a quest that was dealing with a god weapon (axe) that I had the option to keep, being that I am only archery/sneak (70/62 so far) it was of no use to me so I chose to trade it for the god's mask which gave +25 speak and 25% better prices (pretty good for bartering).

If anyone could answer any or all of these question or give me any helpful information I would be very thankful and very happy too. :icecream:

Hey guys I really would like to know about this and I am sure someone on here knows the answer. Please can you help me, lol this bow is weighing down my inventory guys.

From what I understand, that bow would deal the 20 points of shock and 10 points of magicka damage in addition to the normal damage.

Yes of course the Shock damage stacks on top of the regular weapon damage. What would be the point in Enchanting if it didn't add something extra?

EDIT: Shock is good against any enemy that uses magic, because of the magicka damage element. It doesn't do as much outright damage as Fire, but it's handy for stopping mages being able to cast spells quicker.

Okay, Thanks! Yea I just wanted to make sure it was definitely better than my previous bow. Also, that's is good because I find mages are the hardest thing for me to kill usually. but I think that i mostly due to the fact I can't see when they use fire attacks haha.
