I am starting to wonder if I really don't understand the perk system.

I see perks on my tree that are white (which should indicate that they are available) but when I click on them, nothing happens.

As an example:
Sneak tree - I have 4/5 points in Stealth (I have a 62 sneak).

Muffled Movement, and Backstab are both available (as is Deadly aim for some reason), but when I try to add perk points to ANY of them, nothing happens. No message, no nothing.

I don't know if this is a bug or if Im not understanding how the perk system works.

I thought that if I had points in Stealth and the pre req score, I could put points in higher perks.

Backstab has a prereq of 30. As I said, I have a 62. Why cant I choose it?

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me, because the manual doesnt really shed any light on this.

Do you have any perk points (from level up) with which to unlock them? If you do, then I've got nothing.

Also I wonder since we start at level and then get to level 10 we gain 9 perks only. So do we get a perk at 51? 2 at 50? or only 49 perks?

did you unlock the perk before it?

also, theres 69 points for perks if you really want them. 70 levels.

Only 49. But you can obtain according to one source 96 total perks including levelling and special quests.

Yeah, I do. I try to put a point in backstab each time I level and it never works. Its been doing it for several levels. Its really got me baffled.

If I knew of a way to reset my perks, I'd do it and start over from the beginning and see if that helped.

Ok, I am a complete moron, so everyone can disregard this thread.

For some reason, I was under the impression that Backstab and Deadly Aim were multiple point perks. They're not. I've been trying to select a perk I already HAD.
