A favourites menu idea...

Firstly, subscribing to general forum etiquette as I do, I had a look but couldn't find this previously posted.

I'm about 10 hours into the game, and one of the only things that bugs me about the game is the favourites menu. If you, like me, want to change up your style often in the middle of battle (I like to Sneak+Bow attack, then use up my mana with firebolts/runes, and then batter whatever's left with my axes) it can get a little tedious scrolling through the jumbled favourites menu.

Now, I play the 360 version, and I noticed that the D-Pad is only half used (Favourites is Up/Down as default). It would be real handy if we could have, for example, Weapons/Apparel on Up/Down and Magic/Scrolls on Left/Right, 2 favourites menus instead of one.

What do you think?

I think its good or maybe four menus? up weapons, down armor, right magic, left potions and poisons.

Even better! Nice thought.

It wouldn't be too hard to implement through a future patch I'd have thought?

Then again, what do I know? I dropped out after a year of computer game design (BA) haha.

Brilliant idea! I have been having the same problem. In certain battles, I spend longer in the pause menus than actually fighting the enemy.

Not sure how easy it would be to make though...

I think that would be an excellent idea! Considering the favorites menu is supposed to be for fast access, scrolling through it is a rather tedious task.
If I'm honest I was shocked it wasn't already implemented, seen as that sort of menu is pretty much standard in this sort of game!

Thats a great idea, and adding how about if you could choose a menu group to assign to one directional key and then add favorites in that. So you could assign magicka to the right key and then that would show magicka favorites, or you could assign destruction to the left and restoration to the right with weapons as up and whatever else as down

A better way IMO would be using the up and down and left and right as hot swaps instead of favorites. So you could change on the fly.

For example pushing left on the D pad would stroll through the list of items in your left hand for spells, then the same could be for the right hand.
Then up could be left hand for shields/items (and weapons if you duel wield) then down could be for your right handed weapons (or items if you put them in that hand as well).

Pretty much it would be the way dark souls handles it, except the up and down would always be linked to your left or right hand

I still dont get why you cant just hotswap all spells by scrolling in the left hand for example.
