New to Elder Scrolls and loving every bit of it!

This is my first time really getting into an Elder Scrolls game and I have to say this is the best Open world RPG game I have ever played. Before I played Skyrim I played quite a few RPG games and thought ME and AC series were really good. But once I tried out skyrim my thoughts changed so fast its unbelievable. This is what all Open world games should be like. What I mean is the freedom to do what ever you want and the amount of hours you can log even after the main storyline is what all open world game should have. But a lot of the open world games out there only last about 30 or so hours. This game is really different, Im around 44hours into the game and I have hardly touched the main storyline. I've been too busy running around going into dungeons, doing side missions, killing dragons, treasure hunting, smithing, upgrading items, and just enjoying the scenery around me. I really feel that Bethesda has put a lot of thoughts in what an open world game should really be, being able to choose whether to follow the main storyline or not and to customize nearly everything around you and who you are really defines the words "Open World". The amount of freedom we get is just amazing. And the amount of hours we can play and still enjoy every bit of it is a pure bonus. I feel that the money I put into this game is worth every cent and this game will last a very long time. I was so surprised at this cause this is singleplayer game and ever since Multiplayer games became big, I didnt buy that many games that has only singleplayer cause I felt that it wasn't worth my money for the 26-30hrs of gameplay I get from them. But this game is a different story, it really is. The amount of time they spent into making this SP game has really paid off. The learning curve isnt really too hard so newbies can learn and enjoy the game.

Bethesda, you guys have just gained another elder scrolls fan and I will be looking forward to your future elder scrolls games and will never hesitate to buy them. You guys have proven yourself to be the best Open world RPG game makers.

Cheers! :celebration:

Mass Effect is hardly a RPG, besides picking dialogue. And does AC mean Assassin's Creed? Because that's not a RPG at all.

You also pick a class in ME, though that isn't really OMG RPG either.

If you like Skyrim and you're just now getting into real RPGs then I would suggest Risen (on PC), Two Worlds 2, Fallout: New Vegas, The Witcher 2 and Dragon Age 2. Those are pretty action-focused and recent RPGs that look nice and play pretty well. Dragon Age 2 has some issues but for a newbie I think it would be a good one. If graphics aren't a factor for you then the hallmarks of the open world action RPG genre are Morrowind, Gothic 2 and Deus Ex. The recent Deus Ex, Human Revolution, is an amazing game as well but more of a shooter than the original.

oh lol sorry about that. I thought they were. My appologies. My focus isnt really on those though, it was to appreciate Bethesda's work.

I have noticed in Dead Island, Grand theft auto, Mass effect 2, and Elder scrolls the shadows are horrible. Maybe it is a hardware issue. The game still looks amazing.
