Orcish armor weaker than steel plate? : V

Hello guys! I just got my first set of non steel armor just to find out it's the same rating as steel plate. They both have 98. Im kind of mad.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Steel Plate a one-up version of Steel?

And isn't Orcish a one-up variant to Steel on the constellation?

Makes sense, IMO. I rock upgraded Steel Plate because it looks awesome and is effective as well.

Constellation Order of Smithing:
Steel-->Dwarven-->Plate/Orcish-->Daedric-->Dragon
I think Plate and Orcish are the same.
Edit: Let me simplifiy my post for the purpose of this thread.
Is plate heavy? Because, it's under the light armor side of the constellation.

Actually, it's Steel, Dwarven, then Orcish.

It does svck that to make plate, you need to waste a perk on elven. I think it looks cool but I have no desire to ever use light armor with my current character.

i have yet to make any plate going to wait until i can make dragon i am fine with my fine Dwarven armor

That wasnt to you sorry. And the plate I got was heavy. I also just got Dwarven and it was dissapointing. I spent crazy money to buy a ton of ingots for weaker armor.
