Another patch?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 4:21 am

I don't get it, is there going to be another patch soon? Cause a lot of things seems broken to me. For example. The quest about a murderer in windhelm won't start for me. And when I finished "SPOILER" The Sheogorath-quest I went further down in the basemant and died. BY A LAMP!? I hit my head and fell down dead. (You should try that btw it looks hilarious)

The fact that my game crashes like 5 times on an hour is also kinda annoying.

Patches take time. The game was only released 4 days ago, and it had a DAY ONE patch. So technically the latest patch is only 3 days old. Bethesda has to have time to gather bug reports, test to duplicate the bugs, find out why the bugs are happening, fix the bugs, make sure the fixes didn't create other bugs, and then submit the patch to Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN, all of which have a process such things must go through before being distributed to customers. This stage alone can take 1-2 weeks. I wouldn't expect a patch until the 25th at the earliest.

Bethesda can automatically fix issues caused by data numbers (i.e. how much damage something does, the life of an enemy, etc.) with their new system in place, but anything that involves fixing programming or scripting will have to be done with the normal long process. So, name of the game is patience.

It's simple. You created a thread which expresses your complaints and feelings on Skyrim. Your whining is not going to get the gears turning any quicker, as Bethesda is working adamantly to get another patch out to fix bugs. The 1st reply that you received stated the whole process of implementing a new patch while acknowledging your points are valid, as there are some glitches and bugs present within the game. Therefore, I felt the urge to quote on it and let you know that I endorse the said poster's reply fully. And that there is no further need to discuss your complaints.

while I don't dispute the need for a patch they claim it only went gold the Monday before the 11th. I'm sure they have a bug list to crank out but it will take time. You won't see the patches fly out for 360 quickly either because they have to go through MS Q&A and also each one costs money paid to MS after the first so they won't spend $x.00 on a one line patch just for you hehe

so just chill they'll patch. they aren't a release and run to the bank to spend your cash see ya later type company :)

oh btw I haven't crashed once in about 20 hours of gameplay. Not lying or exaggerating. You might want to check your system or hardware for a weak spot.
