Do quests for the Jarl (by asking his advisor). He will give you randomly generated quests. So far they involve killing bandits and giants for me.

Raid the bandits and giants for loot and sell them.

Clear a dungeon and keep travelling back and forth until you have every single piece of weaponry and armor sold. Beyond that, crafting, a bit of hard work, and not being a merchant [censored] and buying all your gear :)

Pickup everything I find and sell them (except ingredients). I got 5k before I hunt my first dragon (the dragon in Whiterun along your mainquest).

Learn transmute. Buy iron ore and turn it into gold rings.

Just like you would in real life - you work for your money or you grab what you can and pawn it off. :hehe:

Do quests. Even menial delivery quests tend to reward you with several hundred gold, which I find to be silly. "Thanks for delivering these reagents from the other side of town. Here's 400 gold."

Pick up everything with a decent weight to value ratio. Preferably 1:5 or better, make your weight limit count. Picking up a bunch of crappy axes or whatever is a waste of bagspace.

Always bring a companion to your trips if only for the additional bagspace. Run in and out of dungeons to make sure you pick it clean of anything worthwhile.

The first major city you visit is so far the best place I've found to vendor trash. There's 1 potion vendor, 1 weapon/armor vendor open all day long, 3 smith vendors and one mage vendor.
If the shop isn't open yet hit "T" and wait until it is open.

Killing giants depend on what char you are but I killed one with a [censored] lv5 mage by kiting. Fire and arrows. Most likely melee would have a tougher time until later but you can just pick up a bow if you really want to kill them that bad.

Ok, talk to me about making gold rings? How do i do this? I have lots of Iron etc

Also, venders offering you s**t money for stuff that worth a lot more. Do i have to increase perks to get proper value from goods?

Note i have only been to one major city so far

Kill dragons. Their scales and bones are worth more than most loot early on.

try a "general goods" trader.

I sell these easy enough, in several locations are traders who will take em.

Some advice: if you have something that is heavy but very valuable and you can't find a merchant who will take it...give it to your companion to carry.

Some more advice: If you don't have a companion, get one. They can be found in most taverns, and will follow you if you pay them or if you beat them in a fight

General stores. In Whiterun it's the Bretons shop. In riverwood it's the guy who gives you the gold claw quest.

edit: I believe the Kajit outside of whiterun will buy them as well, and it's not like you'll have any other use for them anyways for a long time =P
