Some small suggestions to enhance the interface and inventor

Dear Skyrim Team.

I′d like to make some small but hopefully realistic suggestions to enhance the interface and inventory experience for PC Users (and Console Users).
While I do not want to discuss the pure Console nature of the interface, I think even for a console interface it has some
pretty bad flaws that do not meet the quality of Skyrim.

1. Locking Items.
It would really help to lock items. When using the arcane enchanter or dealing in a shop I so often have to check twice
because it′s not obvious if an item is equiped. Alternatively I could imagine to assign a color to a selected Item to highlight
Items of your choice. Or to automatically lock items that are labeled as favourites.
Also it would be nice if stolen goods are red in your inventory, too not only in a chest.
Next to that it would be really helpfull to show all Items when dealing in a shop, even those you can′t sell.
Maybe they could be grayed out or something like that ?

2. Chests.
Please sort chests in subgroups like it′s done in the inventory. I sometimes really have to search quite some time to find the desired Item within a chest.

3. Journal.
Would it be possible to highlight the main Storyline in some way ?

4. Inventory Shortcuts.
Before doing anything in the inventory you really have to think hard what you are doing, because the default shortcuts are really confusing.
For example, when you want to store something into a chest you have to use "R" while the "R" key also is assigned to "Take everything" when taking something out of a chest.
When you want to take a single Item out of a chest you have to use "E". Why this inconsistency ? I constantly end up looting a whole chest by pressing "R" because
it′s the other way around when placing something into a chest. I didn′t dare so far assigning shortcuts myelf because I red somewhere that it may break the interface ?
Anyone can give me feedback if this works ?

5. Right or Left ?
Why do I have to use "left mouse button" to assign something to the "right" Hand and the "right mouse button to assign somthing to the "left" hand.
Doesn′t really makes sense to me. So ProTip...<---- this is left and ----> this is right not the other way around :) At least in my part of the world.

6. A simple "stats" window to see what your character has equipped. What kind of magical effects are in place, how many overall armor you have
and your health, stamina and magicka. How could you forget that ? :)

7. Inventory space.
It′s just to small. When going to a Dungeon with my Dwarfen Armor, a sword, a shield, a bow, some arrows, some soul gems
and some potions, I end up with roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of my inventory space. After looting 5-6 NPC′s I′m usually overencumbered
and have to visit a Dealer. There is nothing more annoying in an RPG than running constantly out of space. As it seems better
equipment gets more and more heavy. So it will probabely get worse later in the game.
Maybe increase it default by 100. And no! I prefer going on quests alone wihtout a companion. I don′t want to have a companion with
me just because the inventory is way to small.

Below the line all these small flaws can be very time consuming. I think I never played an RPG where I spend so much time on trying to get
my stuff organized.

Next to my struggle with the interface I really enjoy Skyrim so far !

cheers !

Welcome to the forums :)

Firstly, it's unlikly any dev is going to read your posts, however, some of the issues I can help you with re quoted items above:

1. There is a small icon at the side of any equipped or favourited items that I can see when I am selling items. I think it's to the right of the item name.

2. Increase your carrying capacity by increasing your stamina when you level up

A lot of your other issues are common complaints, enjoy having a read around the forum!

So i suppose the reason for all this is because you didnt dare to change the controls?
Yea i found the left button for right handed attack pretty weird. Anyway i changed the controls to whatever i liked, and it hasnt screwed up for me. And if you want to be safe probably you could make a copy of the Skyrim game file somewhere else :)

@esmeralde: I think people in charge do look over the forums from time to time. I′ m aware that I′m not the first one to bring up these issues.
But I think as more people complain as higher is the chance something is beeing done about it.

@Azuron: Some issues may be solved by changing the hotkeys, but not all.
Anyway, I ′ll be Daredevil and just give it a try :)
