Where are the onscreen effect indicators?

Where did the onscreen effects indicators of previous games go? It can't be that in the midst of battle in order to know if a potion or spell effect is active on me I have to open the magic menue, scroll down to the effects menue, then scroll and find all temporary effects individually to check how many seconds they are still running. How can I swallow a anti venom potion in time if there is no indication in battle that I was poisoned? Burying important combat related information deep into submenues is not the way a UI should work.

They aren't there...

Another example of the dreadful UI in this game. I don't understand why they didn't allocate resources to a decent UI for such a beautiful game otherwise.
