Bethesda nailed level scaling this time :D

:foodndrink:
They have really done a great job with scaling in Skyrim. This was one of my major concerns about the game, Im so happy to see that it turned out great :) I have been owned by Wispmothers, been mauled by falmers and I have gotten my skull crushed in by cave bears many times. I love how I until lvl 12-13 had to stay clear off spriggans aswell  and the dragons, well they are not to hard, but I havent been in battle with the real badguys of them yet :P But I have killed 6 dragons so far. So yeah, thanks again bethesda, I love this game biiig time !!!!

ps I don't think there are spoliers in my post? If so can a moderator please move it to the spoiler forum? :)

I agree. Level scaling has been great, even the dragons. People whining about how easy some are. Try the harder dragons at 50+ on master and tell me the dragons are too easy.

I feel stronger each level, but the game remains challenging, level scaling at it's best.

It's so intense to simply not know how tough a fight will be around any corner.
There have been times I went through an area thinking the enemies are too weak for me, and I get overconfident.
Then I come across a certain enemy type or named enemy and it whoops my butt easily.
It definitely keeps me on the edge of my seat!

No they didn't. If you level up any non-combat skills too fast the game becomes ridiculously difficult.

the only fault to the level scaling this time is that its still IMPOSSIBLE to find top stuff like glass and daedric equipment until you reach a certain level. Why are they so against having another Divayth Fyr?

well atleast you wont find daedric armor in shops or on bandits att all, its ultra rare like in morrowind, well not that rare :P I think the item scaling is much better blended into the game than in Oblivion, but yeah I kinda agree, would have been awesome to find some really powerful stuff early in the game. One way they can balance this is by having thoose items out there from lvl 1 but it would be a pain in the ass to use the top weapons in low lvl and with low skill stats, and being a pain in the ass to find the items, but it would still be awesome.

This...

I started on Expert, became a great blacksmith and enchanter but lousy fighter and went back to Adept. Eventually my combat skills caught up and I went back to Expert but now I'm oneshotting enemies. Scaling is just the wrong way to go about it.

I just wish Items trickled in, or that all items are availible from the start, with varience in rarity, I don't like that within an afternoon suddenly all these shops have Dwemer and Elven stuff. I don't know, that'd be nitpicking. the MONSTERS sure thats fine, my point was 7 months before Skyrims released I brought up saying ITEMS and loot should not be leveled directly with the player.

you spent the time to make your tools better, it is only natural you would deal more damage/take less damage.

One shotting what?

Wolves? Weak Bandits? other weaker enemies with Petty souls?

i believe they did a great job nothen like fighting a lvl 20 mob at lvl 1 just to see them kill you in 1 hit with different mobs of types and lvl based on location and dungeons with a lvl lock if need be can be explored again to help make up their combat skills when they lvl up to say 20 with secondary skills. btw i once found 2 full suits of elven armor at lvl 1 :)

I also like the level scaling because I don't really notice it and that's how it should be. However, I think the daedric and glass items should be random but EXCEPTIONALLY rare, regardless of level!

I think it's fine unless you're a mage

My firm opinion in that mages got slightly stitched this time round

1) the magicka regeneration boosts that are meant to be on robes don't work when in combat - seriously, how the [censored] did this happen, what a screw up. It makes robes and the RP that comes with it completely pointless, a real shame

2) spells become redundant relatively rapidly. Flames, for instance, has precisely no use after about level 8. Why wouldn't they increase the power of the spells (as well as reducing the cost) as you raise your skill? Again, given the lack of spell creating, this was a key oversight

3) destruction spells aren't powerful enough. Thieves can stealth kill giants in one hit. It takes a seriously long time for a mage to take something like that down

He can one-two shot anything with those maxed. Yes dargons. Those tools are broken and need some real attention.
