How to fix the PC UI

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 4:07 pm

Hello!

Are you tired of being a whining little brat?

Would you like to navigate your inventory and spellbook with ease?

Will you sign a legal document preventing you from whining further?

Here's how:

Use the W A S D, and E keys. INSTEAD of the mouse. You know what? The PC UI actually becomes better than the Oblivion UI.

Pray tell, does the UI bother you?

The UI bothers me in that sometimes the bloody game doesn't register what you clicked on using the mouse. Sometimes, it will choose the option above or below the one you actually clicked on. I hope they fix that.

Yeah, that's how I've been doing it the whole time.

It is still ridiculously cumbersome to navigate.

@ Lunatic Wolf

I have 63 hours of logged Skyrim play, and I have never used an easier UI in an Elder Scrolls game.

But I suppose it's just me, hmm?

@ OP: Starting a thread by flaming other members of the forums on whether or not they choose to re map their controls is neither smart, allowed, nor is it any of your business on how we choose to play our games.

See OP.

You shouldn't HAVE to use WASD just because the developers didn't implement the mouse in properly. It should be fixed. Don't get me wrong, it's still an amazing game.

I guess I find it easier to use the scroll wheel to get to the bottom of my inventory rather than pushing S 25 times.

Are you playing a "No perks" challenge game or what? The perks menu is plain broken on keyboard.

This isn't a fix.

We have an ongoing, rather constructive and useful conversation/thread about the UI, with suggestions, screen mock-ups and so on. It's a pretty good thread.

This one? Not so much.
