Anybody else overshooting their targets...

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 5:26 pm

Maybe it's just me. I might svck; I admit that freely. But I find myself forever sending arrows sailing over my targets and having my targets run away to investigate the clanking sound, instead of properly falling down from the arrow that was supposed to be stuck in their skull.

Anybody have any tips on making the arrows go into my opponents, and not over them?

Unlike Oblivion, you don't have to aim over your targets anymore. I don't think there's any arrow drop in Skyrim, except for maybe at extreme distances.

Arrows rise slightly before they begin to fall. Aim directly at where you want to hit unless your foe is very, very far away.

... not sure if serious.

For short to medium range targets, it isn't a problem. But any time I start taking long distance shots, those arrows just go off into the wild blue yonder. And while lower the reticle is the obvious recommendation, I was hoping for something a little more... specific.

Only when I try to get fancy and go for a headshot. When I aim for the chest cavity, I'm fine.

Yeah dude had the same problem when I started. Takes a while to get a hang of it but now I'm headshotting in third person. I perked out archery like a boss to so almost every shot is devastating :)

What more do you want? It's not that hard if you learn from your mistakes.

Yea, like ScrollThief said above, it will get much better as your perks in archery raise. Mine is only at 47 and I've seen a huge difference in the last 5 points added. I'm one shotting a lot of things that used to tkae 3 or 4 shots to even hit. I noticed that my shots aren't sailing off into space as much now either.

I'm playing as a stealthy character in light armor, and archery is a great place to spend perk points
