Thieve's guild bug , Can't start next mission

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 6:50 pm

hello guys ,
i've got an problem with the thieves guild,
After i,ve done the thieves guild mission : loud and clear ( the mission you have to burn 3 beehive's and break into an house).
I went to Brynjolf to get my quest reward , after that he tells me i need to see an woman called Maven.
But it dindt say i started the quest : Dampenend Spirits.
Good.. Maybe i had to start it at the woman.. So i start finding her upstairs in the bee and hive(the bar) , but she isnt there.
Then i saw her walking at the market outside , and talked to her , but i got no option for an quest or something.
What do i need to do because brynjolf isnt in the guild anymore , and when i speak him at the market he is to busy..

PLZ help..

oke, Ive done the mission : Loud and Clear . ( mission with the 3 beehives ).
After that i go to Brynjolf , to get my quest reward ,
Normally i start an new quest : Dampenend Spirits.
But he dind't give me the quest , but he said i needed to talk with Maven Braid thingy.
So i went to the bar in Riften, and she is not upstairs(normally she is i checked different times).
So i go to market and see her walking there , but there is no quest option.
Bjornwolf is not inside the guild , and when i speak to him at the market(where he walks too) , he don't want to speak with me.
So how i get this quest tryed everything!

I would wager it glitched because I didn't have a problem here. If you found her upstairs in the inn that is the same spot I found her and started the next part of the quest.

I'd reload into your prior save which hopefully doesn't set you too far back. I find that I save every few minutes, especially in dungeons. Just in case.

No one told you to start a new character. He said to load an earlier save before the glitch happened. Are you saying that you are not periodically saving your in-game progress?

I didn't have this problem also. So your saying you don't have a close auto save? Sometimes for me if I don't have it on the mission I'm doing it won't work you should try to see if you have that quest selected. That may or may not work dunno. Wish ya luck

Just some advice to help you maintain your sanity...

Learn to save your game very frequently. If you only rely on the auto saves, you will regret it. Personally, I save after each minor accomplishment (such as I just killed a difficult npc, or I just scored some super cool loot), I also save just before I am about to do something risky that might get me killed, arrested, run out of town or ruin a quest, etc. That way, if I screw up, Idon't lose much time.

That is true do what this person tells ya it saves lives lol. I save A LOT also every time I get ready to do a quest and after one. Also even if I'm just playing around some times you run in to bugs in a quest but then you restart and that bug is not there its really [censored] up.. So yes save a lot
