you can perform the quick kill / Coupe De Grace by:

I have been pressing forward and single press of the attack trigger and you must be standing (Please confirm)

Unsuspecting target

When enemy is off balance from an attack or after you block him

Enemy/NPC is running away from yo and you catch up from behind


any others?

I'm pretty sure it's all random... I have been experimenting with these things myself alot lately, and none of them are constant

I also think its random, at least thats how it seems.

Anyone ever kill an enemy with one of the killing animations then reloading to a slightly earlier save and killing that same enemy again resulting in another killing animation. Happened to me two or three times, might just be a coincidence.
