Some complaints include the textures of individual objects. I logged in to crisis 2 and checked out battlefield 3 on my own time, walked up to an individual rock and paid close attention in each game. Yet I find that the individual items in these games look worse then those in Skyrim. It may be due to the fact that you don't notice these things in these gams as much since you are constantly shooting at enemies but on the whole they look fantastic. Yet when fine attention is paid to any single detail they actually contrast jarringly with the overall picture.
Due to the fact that you don't always have to be on the go but can loligag around a city at your pleasure or go wherever you want for however long you want it may sum up some misconceptions.
The graphics in this game are phenominal, take any screenshot of a total picture (not zoomed into a wall or something) and take a total picture of battlefield three and Skyrim looks much better although that could be because I prefer the phantasy setting.
There are mods flooding out of the gate which will no doubt show ample love for minute detail on each individual rock (and will take a beast of a pc to run) but do not believe that skyrims graphics are negligible.
As many reviews have stated this is a beautiful game. In no game, however, is it meant for you to walk up and pay individual attention to any one specific item.
I walked up to a rock wall in crisis and it literally looked like it could have been done in paint. But that's to be expected. To create worlds of such a size to focus on the micro view (that may not look as good when placed in a whole scenery) is not a smart move.
Next is this "PURE" class fad.
There is no pure class in Skyrim. There aren't any classes at all. Why people think you can be strictly melee when fighting a dragon or pure melee when fighting a horde of barbarians or pure magic that only uses destruction spells and some robes is beyond me. Mages can wear armor if they so choose but often it is more worth it to wear robes with enhanced magic regeneration. You can still wear gauntlets and boots and you should. You should also be a pro with alteration if that is your path. Or at least restoration guardian spells, or both.
Being a mage isn't about just casting destruction spells, its a sum of parts. You must be good or at least competent with all forms of magic and willing to learn them all or you aren't a mage.
Similarly you are not a warrior if you don't block and wear armor nor are you an archer without sneaking around and skill with poisons and at least a dagger.
If you are going to survive in skyrim you have to think of how would a real archer or mage survive in this environment?
They would not be able to just learn some destruction spells and call it good.
Besides that it almost seems as if people have missed the dozens of people lining up to follow you on your journeys. Almost every town has mercenaries in it, not to mention you get a "free" companion for becomming a jarl in any city and there are others who will join you just for doing something small like beating them in a fist fight.
You should have someone with you, if you don't, be aware that things will be more difficult and prepare accordingly. Know that you will use more potions and some fights will be one sided.
That combined with the fact that it is impossible for a companion to actually die unless they are down and YOU hit them. Once they are downed all enemies ignore them from that point on until they are healthy again.
Its as if some people believe that a archer would really deny carrying a blade or that a mage wouldn't have at least a dagger or some back up plan on what to do should someone close the distance. People on real battlefields don't go "Well there's a dragon up there...and a conveniently placed bow...but i'm a warrior so i'll just wait for it to come down" you pick up the freakin bow and do whatever you can to survive.
