Wooping noises

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 11:40 pm

So this is my first year attending the BYOC and I've come to notice the "wooping" noises seem to be a usual thing. Can anyone explain why it's being yelled?

Ahh, thought there might be a story behind it.

The "wooping" calls are part of the mating call of noobs with inanimate nether regions. They always perform this ritual in the hope that someone of the other gender will eventually seek them out. The same people do it every year so it seems they are always FAIL as the outcome of any mating is impossible since that level of functionality is impossible.

It's impossible because we stole up all the potential mating partners.

Mostly the yelling is done by little boys whose mommy's just dropped them off until Sunday. They've never been out in public before and really aren't aware of any sort of acceptable social behavior. lol!

It is a military thing, used in marksmanship courses (I believe). I could not tell you what forts or branches use it over Whoo-ah. Very big at Texas A&M.
I think the Texas A&M people brought it to Quakecon (and just about any other event in Texas.) It is so simple it is easy for anyone to get carried away in the act without understanding it. It can also be a challange to someone at A&M if you whoop unprovoked “at” them if you are not an “aggie”.

not to be confused with Little John noises
