I just started playing Rage and I've come to realize almost no sound comes out of the center channel. I can hear some sounds faintly but things I would normally to come from center are only coming from F/L, F/R, R/L, R/R, Sub, e.g. voice/dialog or any environment sound as I turn in place in front of a static in-game sound.

I see a post with a PC user claiming something similar.

Any idea what's going on here?

I know my surround sound is fine as I popped in the Halo surround sound test video and it works as expected.

I'm having this exact issue! I thought my speaker was unplugged. So I popped a CD in to listen to every speaker and they all work fine, but I'm getting no center channel sound when playing Rage in 5.1.

same problem here, optical to 360. there is a small amount of environment sound coming out of it but why would they leave the dialogue off the center channel?!!? Is something broke? I know its not my XBOX or theater system as they all work properly with other games, channel testing, blurays and broadcast tv.

just adding a BUMP since my new home theater system should be here wednesday. going from optical to full hdmi audio. Will let you know what happens.

UNLESS anyone wants to chime in before then and say it a problem or it's a known issue.... or just something they didnt want to work around like in COD3 by treyarch

Well i just upgraded my surround sound receiver from a (Onkyo TX-SR602 7.1) to a brand new YAMAHA RX-V867 and made sure it had the latest firmware. My old one i was running 5.1 through optical since the system did not HDMI in. My new one has 6 so i finally got mt 360 audio going though HDMI. While i wasn't expecting this to fix the issue of no voices coming out of the center channel it served as a good test. They still do not, every other speaker in the system will have voice but NOT THE CENTER.

What a load of baloney... and it is not my center channel ALL other things work fine. Just not this game.
