Defib Upgrade issue

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 4:14 pm

Can someone help me out?

I've gone through the Defib upgrade mission, grabbed the upgrade which caused a hole to blow in the wall and release some mutants. Killed them, looted the places, went don't some stair and the exit door is closed. I checked back as far as I was allowed to go, which is the entracne chamber before the lab where the defib was. Looted everything and the door is still closed. I even went back to a previous save and replayed from the "Giant Mutant" part...same deal...

Any ideas? I looked at a walkthrough on YouTube and it looks like that door next to the painted skull should be open allowing access back to the Wasteland...

Thanks
JAY

Put the discs back in the box and trade them in.

It's a game ending bug

Now that there's already several threads referring to this i'm starting to wonder what the people confronted with this bug are doing in the game.

I'm on my second playthrough with Rage now and i can't remember how often i entered and left dead city in different moments in the game's timeline in different situations without any problems at all. I even did tasks in the wrong order but nothing glitched at all.

I would consider myself a gamer that plays games to their limits, exploring glitches and bugs but i just can't reproduce any of the dead city problems mentioned on this forum.
On my 360 Rage works absolutely flawless without any bugs at all! The only thing i noticed is the laggy coop mode in multiplayer but that's it.

I know this won't help any of you but with my personal playing experience i would call Rage on 360 one of the very few games that is bug free.

This is definitely an issue.
I have reached the same point and the door is shut.
I read elsewhere that if you do the level again the door can be open when you get to this point.
I am only a casual gamer and take ages to get through each level. The prospect of doing it again is not something I would consider.
This has really spoilt my enjoyment of the game.
I will wait a while to see if an upgrade for Rage appears that fixes the problem.
If not, I can't imagine buying another ID game.

I don't have any doubts that this is happening but i'm wondering under what circumstances and why this is going on as i'm absolutely unable to find any bugs in this game.
On my second playthrough i'm exploring everything and every place ( still on disc one and already over 15 hours of gameplay! ) and NO problems at all...
I even try to drive my buggie into areas where no player has ever gone before... ;-)

The only thing i can imagine is that it has something to do with differences in the standard/anarchy editions. I own the full anarchy.

Edit: One additional thing comes to my mind. The first time i started Rage it loaded a patch from xbox-live. Has everybody with the defib mission door problem installed that patch or not ?

I have the same problem!

My XBox 360 is always on-line and i installed all patches when this is required.

I hope to get a solution for this problem from Bethesda, because would be quite annoying to star again the dead town section!

I remember too well that i was unable to complete Oblivion for a bug NEVER solved!

Besides, IMHO, a game is "Bugs-Free" when it is "Bugs-Free" for all and not only for someone.

I played through Rage 5 times now and i never experienced any "door glitch bug"....

There must be some special action or situation that provokes this bug. After 5 playthroughs without this, i'm pretty sure this doesn't happen randomly.
