Indeed. This game continues to look like it could be very intriguing and fun.

Very interesting article. I love that we won't be limited to a single playing style. Personally I'm much more for stealth / assassin-type games than the run-and-gun games

they've also got http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/22/dishonored-interview/ with Harphael Colansmithio wherein Harvey sounds super duper excited about everything and reveals a couple neat examples of player solutions of problems (like freezing time and firing some crossbow bolts towards enemies and walking away and unfreezing time and killing a bunch of guards simultaneously).

Very cool.

Also... Deus Ex, Skyrim, Dishonored, Prey 2... The future is looking great, in a large variety of colours!

for the sake of completeness there's also Bioshock Infinite and Far Cry 3 next year, as well as (perhaps more importantly) STALKER 2. further into the unscheduled future there's Fallout 4 and likely Obsidian's next Fallout. also Thief 4 eventually, which will at worst be an improvement over Deadly Shadows.

it's really really nice to see the immersive sim making such a comeback. while i'm still a bit doubtful that any other studio will really be able to capture the magic of Looking Glass or Ion Storm (and also very hopeful that i'll be proven wrong), it doesn't seem like as big a disservice as it could to group a lot of these games with Thief and System Shock.

John Walker you are worthy of a dunce cap.

Each screenshot demonstrates something unique: a facet of the game.

The first shows first person melee combat and the unique character and fashion design. (Lower class)

The second shows the art direction and obviously influence of Viktor (and the high society of the ruling party).

The third shows stealth and atmosphere.

The fourth shows the player while possessing a rat (see how close to the ground the camera is) and demonstrates the plague-ridden environment of the game (dead bodies dumped in now empty buildings…)

The fifth shows the remarkable AI capabilities of the rats in the game… namely, the mechanic that they avoid the light. The player has hidden himself from the rats by standing right in front of a powerful lamp. What happens when you are trying to hide from a guard in the dark and a horde of rats comes running?

Glad to see there's at least one guy out there who got it right! :celebration:
