Your wish list

What are you hoping to see in Dishonored? What would you like to see? What have you thought up that you think would make the game better?

1. Ermines. Yes I know I already posted a thread about this. That's why I'm not elaborating here.

2. A whale skeleton. Think of it as a level. A whale that has been stripped to the bones is still on the hooks being held up high. You can navigate through the massive skeleton to avoid being seen, or you can sabotage the hooks and cause the massive bone to swing about in all directions, causing massive amounts of damage.

3. Jack the Ripper. Not literally the same person, but a serial killer none the less. A gruesome individual who stalks the streets of Dunwell, and only Corvo can stop.

4. Item crafting. Sort of like Fallout 3. You collect items that can be turned into weapons and equipment. I want to be able to craft bombs, traps, poisons, and even decoys from junk that can be found here and there.

5. Wind up machinery. Wound spring mechanisms were once something of a fad. They were most commonly used in clocks, music boxes and record players, but they were also tested for use in buggies and even elevators. I want to see something really cool.

6. Kieth David. Captain Anderson, the Arbiter, Julius Little, Goliath, Frank Armitage... Need I go on? This guy doesn't get hired enough.

7. Helpful kills. I can understand that not killing guards who are good enough at their job to pose a problem will make life better in Dunwell, but what about rapist, slavers, con artist and other such people? In real life eliminating these people makes the world a slightly better place. I'd like the same thing in Dishonored. If you don't kill a rapist for the sake of not killing him then he just keeps on [censored], but he can't do that if he's face down in his own entrails and thus that problem is averted.

8. New game plus. Pweez?

::EDIT::

9. Home Alone style booby traps that can be built from random crap.

10. Drugs. Like I said in the Merciful Melee thread: I'd like to able to drug guards so they appear to be drunk instead of looking like they've been taken down.

1: Adrenaline moves that scare away opponents, possibly decreasing Chaos.
2: Once pawned, spared thugs will escape the Regime through the closest level fasade, inspired by your good.
3: Flamethrower- Rescue helpless women (or Corvo) from Rat Death or fry the Regime.
4: Stealth or powers that turn enemies against eachother.
5: Replay factor- Freedom to skip inplay cutscenes.

Rethinking something. What if you could create traps in the field with items you find here and there. Like spreading oil on stares to make them dangerous, or setting things over doors so they fall on anyone who opens them. You know, Home Alone improvisation. I'm sure that already exist on some level, but I'd like to make it a regular trick.

Oil pranks completed Dark Messiah combat. In an economy with slippery whale oil, it will happen too- perhaps with less burns and more bruices.

I want open maps and potent tools that allow players to approach and complete objectives in creative ways. I want interesting game systems that play off each other and result in interesting moment-to-moment play. I want the game to offer me freedom at every moment and take account of how I'm playing.

All else is fluff.

11. Oil gun/flame thrower. A wind up gun that sprays a thick mist of oil. This can be used to create oil slicks or fire traps. The oil gun can also be used as a flame thrower. This makes it both a gadget and a versatile weapon. Not to steal your idea, Blackprobe

12. Interrogation grabs. You can grab people and put them in an arm lock and rotate their arm to hurt them. This allows you to interrogate them. You can select dialog and use the mouse or stick to twist their arm until they answer your questions. When your done interrogating you can kill them, knock them out or even let them go and apologize.

I would like to flip this one on its head. I see it more Corvo/Me becoming a Jack the Ripper style character. I would love to be sat in a tavern stalking a guard and hear some locals telling over the top tales of my latest killings. I want people to fear 'me' but not know its me they have to fear.

Although TBH I trust these guys to deliver. DM is one of my favourite games of all time (despite obvious plot twist) because the combat and the movement worked, and some things interacted in ways that I enjoyed at the time (noticeable moments were: when I killed several guards with shovel (I kept it with me for that purpose), and when they threw you at some enemies that had previously been really tough and allowed you to enjoy your new found skills and powers.)

It could be both. Think about it, guards start finding mutilated women here and there, and who do they blame? The world class assassin they've already framed for the murder of one woman. In fact this could go both ways. If your trying to keep people alive you can go after him -also people will never believe your the killer- but if you kill all the time he comes after you like it's a competition. As for who he is, I'd like to think he's an old soldier who the army retired. He's also impudent now, but he can still find one use for prosttutes. He should be someone who can still put up a fight. This whole thing would make one hell of a DLC.

*rolls eyes*

Wow, all you've done now is ensure that they will never make this part of a level. You are not a game designer. You are not on the project. They will not listen to specific stuff like this.

3. Jack the Ripper. Not literally the same person, but a serial killer none the less. A gruesome individual who stalks the streets of Dunwell, and only Corvo can stop.

As far as I can tell, Corvo is a serial killer. Though including a serial killer in the game is not a bad idea. Hitman often featured enemy assassins to outwit while on missions.

4. Item crafting. Sort of like Fallout 3. You collect items that can be turned into weapons and equipment. I want to be able to craft bombs, traps, poisons, and even decoys from junk that can be found here and there.

I believe traps and such are already in the game. Can you create them? I'm not sure. But I don't think it's that great. No creation system has ever really been that great. It's what? Gather ingredients... click button? I'd like to see a game where you can ACTUALLY CREATE STUFF in the game simulation. Like cooking food by throwing it on a fire (Arx Fatalis). Or smithing a sword (like in Gothic II).

5. Wind up machinery. Wound spring mechanisms were once something of a fad. They were most commonly used in clocks, music boxes and record players, but they were also tested for use in buggies and even elevators. I want to see something really cool.

This is completely irrelevant.

6. Kieth David. Captain Anderson, the Arbiter, Julius Little, Goliath, Frank Armitage... Need I go on? This guy doesn't get hired enough.

God no. Go for cheap relatively un-heard of but talented and distinctive voice actors. Don't waste resources on "big talent".

Watch Requiem for a Dream. Then tell me you still like Kieth David.

What, you mean play Batman? Walk down a dark alley, see a woman getting attacked and go save the day? What about the players who see the man [censored] someone and don't do anything but stand and watch? I'm pretty sure that would generate too much negative media attention (and kick the rating up).

8. New game plus. Pweez?

WTF is up with the new game plus craze?

Seriously, you win the award for the most specific and weird requests.

All of my stuff are suggestions. It's not like I'm programing levels and up loading torrents for them to download.

As far as I can tell, Corvo is a serial killer. Though including a serial killer in the game is not a bad idea. Hitman often featured enemy assassins to outwit while on missions.

The designers have gone well out of their way to make it possible to win the game without killing anyone. They're trying to figure out ways to make it where even the targets can be dealt with without killing them.

I believe traps and such are already in the game. Can you create them? I'm not sure. But I don't think it's that great. No creation system has ever really been that great. It's what? Coming from you, that means little. All I'm saying is it would be awesome.

God no. Go for cheap relatively un-heard of but talented and distinctive voice actors. Don't waste resources on "big talent".

Watch Requiem for a Dream. Then tell me you still like Kieth David.

I maintain that Kieth David is friggen awesome.

What, you mean play Batman? Walk down a dark alley, see a woman getting attacked and go save the day? What about the players who see the man [censored] someone and don't do anything but stand and watch? I'm pretty sure that would generate too much negative media attention (and kick the rating up).

Batman doesn't kill people, [censored]. Not even people he should. The sad truth some people in this world should be removed from it for the sake of the general public. What I want is to help Dunwell the same way.

WTF is up with the new game plus craze?

Seriously, you win the award for the most specific and weird requests.

Then don't play the game over again! I'm not the only person who wants it.

Yeah, and you won't even be able to get them all in one play-through.

I would like to use this post to point out the time stamp of my original post. While i know many of the things I described are similar to things you may find in Skyrim, I was not saying that Dishonored should be more like Skyrim. At the time I knew very little of what would be in Skyrim.

There's no whale skeleton in Skyrim! There are mammoth skeletons, dragon skeletons, but no whale. Or I didn't find it yet! ;)

Anyway guys, please keep throwing in ideas... If you're not too busy playing Skyrim. :P

Here's a random one I was thinking about this morning: I'd like to see a level that is essentially collapsing or changing in some drastic way, like the ship crashing to the ground in Jedi Knight, or the submarine level in Singularity. Those kinds of levels are a nice change of pace, and they make the world feel more alive. Usually they're fairly constrained gauntlet-running-type levels though, so it would be tough to do with this kind of game.

What if your given the ability to save the structure from collapsing? This would prevent chaos by also saving lives.
