Accessibility of controls

Assuming there is going to be a fair amount of interaction in Dishonored I was wondering what the controls are going to be like.
I Aam currently playing Arx fatalis on PC and I cant help but judge why Arkane decided to go with the complex control setup that is similar to Ultima underworld and System shock 1 vs the accessible controls/interface of system shock 2 or Arx fatalis on the xbox.
The only big difference in mechanics between Arx on PC vs Xbox is that on Xbox you have to pick up an item into your inventory before you can use it or combine it with other objects in the game world. Another difference is the magic system but that is only because console pads lack the precision of a mouse.

I appreciate you wanted to stay true to ultima underworld but I think System shock 2 had interaction & interface/use mode figured out perfectly.
The Xbox port of Arx had a different way of interacting with the world (no use mode, inventory ring instead) It was not ideal since it automatically selected the correct item in your inventory to combine with whatever was in your crosshairs (as long as it was combinable to begin with) therefore preventing you from figuring it out for yourself, but it worked, better than nothing right?

Also another thing- use mode IS perfectly capable to implement on consoles- I have System shock 2 set up with Xpadder (a program to play PC games with a console pad) and it works just fine. I am even playing arx fatalis PC with it, although struggling (but I was struggling without it too)
got it figured out now though but I just feel the controls and interface is overly complex when it does not need to be, and I hope to see a "use mode" in Dishonored too, athough I doubt there will be :( ......

Anyway just my thoughts and maybe I am completely wrong here because i am missing something?

EDIT: The issue is having to go into use mode everytime to pick up anything + search containers too. All it needed was an interact key like system shock 2 which had multiple functions- pick things up, search containers/corpses and interact with switches etc, and in use mode it uses items.
