So messed up :

So my Sister buys a normal retail addition on 11/13 from Fredmeyer's and she gets the Pre-Order Special Edition Map. I preorder the game months ahead and get it on the 11th and I get the standard addition map. WTH BETHESDA?

That's the retailers decision. A few days after the release, if a game still has spare pre-order gifts, they'll just hand them out to people who buy standard copies.

Yea, cause that is totally Bethesda's fault. Take it up with your retailer.

Where did you pre-order from? Oh, and blame the retailer not Bethesda.

This sounds ignorant, but what is the difference between a pre-order map and a regular map? I preordered from GameStop and picked up my copy, but it had no signs of being a pre-order copy at all, so i'm kind of curious now..

I preordered from Newegg. My sister bought it from Fredmeyer's two days after release.

I think the main issue here is the fact that although he pre-ordered far ahead of release date, he did not get the map. Though his sister walks in, buys the game, and gets the map. I would be a little annoyed too. That said, the map is nothing special, really. A cool little addition, that is it.

Is the preorder map a cloth map or a textured paper map? I got the textured paper map with my copy, and i'm not certain if I got cheated or not? Is the preorder textured and the regular one just like manual paper? So confused... =(

That's the retailer's fault, not Bethesda... Chances are, your sister recieved her game from a store that had too many 'pre-ordered' games in stock, so they sold her that one. You just got shafted by wherever you received your copy. Remember this for future reference and shop/pre-order somewhere else.

The solution is simple: Level up your real life character's sneak until you get your damage multiplier perks, then grab a knife and stab your sister while she's sleeping. You should be able to one-shot her without alerting anyone. Make sure she has the map on her when you kill her, so it counts as looting and not stealing. As a bonus, her bed should become un-owned, so you can sleep in it now.

Damn. You are going to be bitter about this for years. It will subconsciously affect every decision you make from now on and when you are in your 50s, living in an old refrigerator box under a train trestle surrounded by by empty bottles of mouthwash, you will look up at the sky, balled fists trembling and scream, "WHY BETHESDA? WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!"

Sad story, really.

They should just sell the maps in an online store. Gamestop is svck a horrible POS store, never preordering anything from them ever again. Steam all the way I didn't want the stupid paper map.

So email Newegg with your emailed receipt and tell them you didn't get the proper map? Not sure what you're doing here if you haven't done that yet.
