Good class for my playstyle?

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 11:51 am

Hey, trying to decide what do specialize in, i want to be able to get in close without dying easily, and deal good damage, and take down everything that dare stands in my way.

Was thinkin maybe sword n board, or 2 handed, and resto

Any ideas?

Since there aren't any classes in Skyrim, you can just play like you want to. Your character will evolve from your playstyle.

go 1h, block, resto/alchemy, heavy armour. and anything else you can think to put in... maybe smithing. i say go either or on resto and alchemy because that depends on how you play, if you use resto you loose your shield to heal. if you go alchemy and make you potions then you can just pause the game and take the ones you need. the only downside to alchemy is you can only make potions/poisons at alchemy labs now. and if your out of potions your boned.

i guess i should rephrase, what weapon should i use, i dont want to use sword n board and spend a bunch or perk points in it to find out that it svcks, or vice versa with 2 hander, and should i spend gold on destruction or resto scrolls, what do you think would work best?

with 1h i would specialise axe cuz of blooding perk.

ok i tell you my experience: 2 h svck at dragon fight cuz u die so fast, otherwise it works greaat.
pure mage with destruction and restoration: i heard destruction dont scale up enaugh and svcks in later game.
1h with shield: looks boring and too casual for me ;) but i think it will work great for everything.
assasin: no clue how u could kill a dragon -.-
marksman: could work good if you combine it with 2h?
battlemage (1h and destro): not enaugh defense and weak cuz of spreading points to health magicka and stamina

i think you should prefer heavy if you are a meele fighter, exception is light if you are sneaky.
as mage robes of course, battlemage its your choice wich you prefer...

thats some impressions of my thoughs so far, of course u can experience it in other ways.

i would say a redguard. the race bonuses all tie into what you described as you want to do. smith your own high powered heavy armor, get a sweet mace or high powered dual daggers with a good heal spell and focus on one type of destruction magic (fire, shock, frost) this way you can ravage enemies who are weak to your destruction skill and anyone else you can rip apart with your weapons

or possibly 1h, block, resto, heavy, smithing

you cant block if you have the resto spell in your second hand :(
but the rest sound good :) its like a paladin then ;)

dual daggers with a good heal spell and focus on one type of destruction magic (fire, shock, frost) this way you can ravage enemies who are weak to your destruction skill and anyone else you can rip apart with your weapons

but chaning weapons to destructionn and healing all time could be annoying, and in my opinion destruction spells AND meele weapons are a kind of redundant...
if you play mage i can recommend summoning for you - its very funny to see your enemys get smashed by a big ice atronach while you shoot some fireballs at them ;)

board = shield?
why not healspell left and weapon right? sounds the best for me...
