will they be back? do you WANT them to be back? personally I could live without the things, and i doubt they could live in the frosty skyrim climate but who knows!

They were part of a collection quest to make strong potions. They were exclusive as they do not grow back once they are plucked.

Wasn't powdered Nirnroot like an aphrodisiac or something? Like Nirn's version of Spanish Fly?

I too was interested to see them back~! Like Oblivion had this quest to get em but I never used one of the potions I paid for because it just seemed to be a dead end.

Surprised, i saw nirnroot in one of the first clips I saw of Skyrim! Like I hope the things do something better!

So does anyone know what's up with them in Skyrim? Is there another quest about them again? Do they grow back this time? I'm hesitant to use or sell them ...

I ran into a farmer that grows them (she says she's the only person that knows how to grow them), close to the starting area. She only paid me 10 gold per Nirnroot, so I'll just collect them and store them. Haven't found another use for them so far. Hoping there is another quest for them as getting 10 gold for a Nirnroot isn't that great.

Managed to find 12 so far (6 in my house and 6 sold to the farmer), even with looking for them when near areas with water.

I think they're now just an alchemy ingredient, like any other.

Are these used for anything besides alchemy? I been afraid to use them cause I keep thinking theres another collection quest somewhere.

I have found a lot of them but no side quest for them.

my only wish is that they would skip the damn noise that emits from them. annoying little thing...

There′s a root called Crimson Nirnroot, it grows underground. There′s a quest for them aswell, haven′t found any quest for the regular nirnroot.

I hate nirn root. If you go near them a weird sound is played as well. As if the weed is special. I plucked one or two but due to my hate for the stuff I compounded them into garbage potions so they'd go off my item list forever. I've seen many ever since. Many while doing quests. I keep my distance.
